A voluntary recall of several infant and children’s Tylenol has been announced by the drug company, McNeil Consumer Healthcare. Twenty-one Tylenol products had been identified, due to possible contamination of one of the inactive ingredients used for making the drug. The recall was issued on September 18, 2009, for products manufactured between April 2008 and June 2008.

UPDATE (JAN. 2010): Tylenol Expanded Recall List in 2010 (see link for detail)

Examination of bulk raw material found the ingredient did not meet their internal testing requirements. The gram-negative bacteria Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia) was detected. No bacteria has been detected in finished products, but the recall was issued as a precaution. look up this site it tells you all that was recalled. its not just childrens tylenol.

Ick. I discovered I had a cold two days ago. It hasn’t got better and this is the week of the big musical!

I’m in the pit orchestra, and due to the fact that I sit in the… ahem, spit-propelling area where the reeds are, I do not want to get anyone sick. I don’t know when I will get over it, but I can’t let anyone else get a cold too.

How do I get over the cold, or at least the spread of it, within the next twenty four hours? (No Tylenol for me due to the recall =/ )

How to cure a cold, fast?

Maybe I’m a bit paranoid, but I have to ask this question after seeing something on t. v that really scared me….Nearly 3 years ago I was prescribed hydrocodone 7.5 for a torn bicep, main ingredient being acetamenaphen (Tylenol basically)…I never was a drug user or pill popper, (obviously) and had a very limited knowledge of possible interactions because during that time of my life I was reguarly drinking a few beers in the evenings – like 3 – 6 range. I don’t recall any ill side effects, but could this have caused any long term damage? Probably was on em 2 weeks…I wasn’t exactly drinking “on them” but doubt they had entirely cleared my system either. I would take one in morning probably 10 hrs since last drink, and then one in the afternoon probably 6 hours before first drink….I drank water regularly, ran some, and ate right during this time, if those would be mitigating factors at all. Or am I just being paranoid? Being a little older and wiser, I’ll never do that again!
